I started off as just another uptime monitor, and just kept adding features as my customers suggested them. Eventually I took stock of what I had built, and started building it into what it is now. Some more takeaways from the start of the

I built OnlineOrNot ( https://onlineornot.com ) - it's a hosted Status Page, with built-in Uptime Monitoring. It supports: * Custom domains * Private Status Pages (password protection) * Automatically posting incidents to you

Most folks demo everything from logging into the app, to viewing onboarding and the main dashboard. It's boring as hell. Demo the differentiated value - what do you do better than the existing solution? Just show that, and how it'

JS development in particular is relatively verbose, so folks started writing little helper libraries to get things done faster. Folks open-sourced their libraries, others contributed, and we eventually wound up with frameworks.

If there is, I couldn't find it. It'd be awesome if there was a standard "doNotTrack" style variable for CLIs. With wrangler we went with WRANGLER_SEND_METRICS, as well as a user prompt to opt in/out.

Personally I'm building an automatically updating status page service with built-in uptime monitoring. Starting with built-in monitoring, and integrating Uptime Robot, I'm making it possible to make a pretty, accurate status page

Oh hey, I've got one right here: https://github.onlineornot.com/ Based out of Virginia, USA for the initial check, followed by a random sample of 19 locations around the world to confirm it's actually down.

With wrangler2 ( https://github.com/cloudflare/wrangler2 ) you can deploy a static site to Cloudflare for free (you don't get any of the features of Cloudflare Pages though): echo '# Hmm' > index.md npx

I used create-react-app, React by itself with a hand rolled webpack config, and Gatsby. Next.js feels like a team is working for you behind the scenes making everything faster for you, all you need to do is update.

Find a french startup and come over on the tech talent passport. Most remote friendly tech jobs I've seen offer a 90k euro base, at which point you live like royalty in most cities.
