This might seem like a naive question, but how is it possible to verify that 3 is true? I get how it might be done in theory but real life is complicated. Has anyone attempted to do this?

That's... strange. Whats even the point of being on GitHub in this case, why not just distribute a source tarball with each release?

Ripgrep (and by extension, vscode) does not have these features for the same reasons. It turns out you can usually find a way of doing what you need without using these features. People got by without them for a long time.

This is the issue with placebo controlled trials: the placebo effect is actually pretty damn useful. I don't mean to invalidate your experiences, and I don't doubt that without a placebo group the positive effect would be signific

I think a contributing factor is that the police knew that these protesters would be heavily armed and dangerous and so were reluctant to escalate the situation. Unlike with BLM where they could happily curbstomp them with no consequences.

It is of course a ridiculous thing to say, and a terribly worded article, but no need to be unfair. They do clarify it in the following paragraph.

I agree with the need to preview whats going on. In real life spaces, we often decide to switch to a different conversation from hearing a snippet or zoning in to what's going on around you when you're bored of the current talk. I

Some games like Factorio have nice contextual cues for certain key bindings. I'm sure there's extensions available for most editors to do the same thing.
