Damn I love haxe, I wonder how many ex Actionscripters are out there? Haxe, Flixel and Haxeflixel (thanks Adam Atomic) had a big influence on me as a young Dev. Even in the massively scaling SaaS work I do now I'm always inspired by 2d

I always knew the Dutch Apekoppen or 'banana monkeys' were the perfect way to enjoy the dangerous black stuff. The mix of high potassium banana with the lethal liquorice makes it both delicious and safe https://www.mrsb

Oh wow. This is epic. Such a resource for developers with monkey hands (when it comes to design that is).

I see it very often that people who say 'yes' = good people, and people who say 'no' = bad peoples. I've certainly worked in places where turning down drinks after hours isolates you socially. I have also worked in

My 'ugh field' right now is making a staging environment for a Wordpress blog that has been left untouched for quite a few years. Anyone raise me?

At a Christmas lunch in 1996 - I was 12 - My nan told me and my sister. "Some bugger will always have a faster car, a flashier house, a glitzier watch - but you were the only kids that ever had me for a nana". I've used varia

It's a tough existence on your own right now, but in other ways it's easier because everyone is in the same boat. We are more remote, but also more understanding that connecting with people means so much to us...

I think it's definitely a wisdom/experience/age thing. I know now that my ability to not run at 60 miles an hour as soon as something turns or a new opportunity arrises is as much a blessing as a curse.

Sounds like a similar deal. I was 'allowed' to take the boys for my first holiday with them in years the other week and it was complete bliss. Blackpool beach has never felt so special... One thing I've been meaning to ask so

The first year and a half is the worse for separation with children, at least for me. Trying to be involved in the same capacity, whilst maintaining a job and rebuilding your own life is a lot of work. I was constantly exhausted, often forg

Single dad - with two boys who delight and terrorise in equal measure. Working in an industry in constant flux, trying to make the right moves and play to my skills. Knowing all along that I am not the best at what I do by a long mile. I&#x

This game is everything. I played about 90 minutes during 'lunch' (yay WFH), and it's so good. That soundtrack is so much better than it needs to be, the art looks insane. One slight thing is the combat is a little clunky (it

This is kind of just explaining supply and demand. I would say a large proportion of React devs just want it to do the things they need and easily, and hooks certainly aide them. Sure if you need to dig a little deeper then you find that ho
