Did you read the article? Not wanting to visit countries where secret police are rounding people up, regardless of citizenship, seems like a reasonable opinion.

Yea the sizing seems wrong. Hands are way too big compared to his head. Could be a weird lens/angle though. If it is AI wtf is it even doing there though? It adds nothing. A quick search returns a bunch of images where Jobs looks annoy

The point is because natural language systems seem so easy to use people assume the existing hard parts will become easy. But integrating systems is hard not because formal languages are challenging to use but because connecting systems is

What do you think a good response would look like? I thought about linking to comments from those in charge but I admit I was too lazy to collect them. At this point I’m lost on what more to say to people other than “You know those problems

That’s the point the interviewee is trying to make. The libertarian era was an anomaly not the actions of today.

As someone who has aphantasia I did the same thing, but with motes of dust on the window. I’d stare at a single bit of dust or dirt and move my head up and down to make the dirt move with the landscape. It’s funny to read these stories beca

To be honest as someone who's built a dozen dice rolling and dming tools for myself I've recently switched mostly back to paper. There's just something really nice about rolling physical dice on a physical table while flippin

One of the interesting corollaries of the title is that this can also be true of humans. Being able to code is not the same as being a software engineer. It never has been.

I hate jq as much as the next guy but it’s ubiquitous and great for this sort of thing. If you want a single path style query language I’d highly recommend JsonPath. It’s so much nicer than jq for “I need every student’s gpa”.

The major problem with most telling of the test is we don’t do it. The game is to be played with three participants: two competitors, and a questioner. Of course today the assumption is it’ll be a human and a machine, no questioner. The go

There isn’t really anything like Phoenix or Django or Rails. There are a set of tools though that are commonly used to build web apps. Lustre is the primary view tool. Wisp is the server. And then squirrel and POG, newer but people seem to

One of the things I’d love to know is if you agree with this view what is an average person to do? You can always short the whole market but that’s crazy risky and as the article says this could go on for some time.
