I’m genuinely excited about this. The GitHub actions platform is genuinely bad compared to circle or Travis but they’ve been totally crowded out because GitHub was just so easy to use. This has led to plenty of security issues and a general

Yea you’re definitively paying more for a product vs just a raw computer. I wouldn’t want it as I bought an intel nuc and manage it myself but I could see less tech savvy people who what to get into the space finding this interesting.

I think the point is a bit more nuanced and has to do with the authors conception of the self. He argues that even if you got immortality and lived a great life at some point You would stop being You so you might as well have died anyways.

Yea bag of words isn’t helpful at all. I really do think that “superpowered sentence completion” is the best description. Not only is it reasonably accurate it is understandable, everyone has seen autocomplete function, and it’s useful. I d

They aren’t talking about Gemini because Google is the brand name people know. “Oh Google told me this”. “Google planned my day.” Or maybe “Google’s AI said X” Gemini is less a consumer brand name and a more a brand name for those of us who

You just described a union. One of the things that’s wild to me about the book is that it’s pushed as a proponent of individualism and libertarianism but Gault’s Gulch is just the wealthy unionizing. There’s nothing individualistic about it

Really nitpicky I know but GPT-3 was June 2020. ChatGPT was 3.5 and the author even gets that right in an image caption. That doesn’t make it any more or less impressive though.
