OP most likely realized their mistake and deleted the thread instead of owning up to it. The thread was deleted by the OP, not removed by moderators (reddit visibly differentiates between the two)

Yeah well, you could just read some of the many docs describing how whatsapp works? Forwarding media works because it’s just a small blob with a url to the encrypted file and the decryption key. These things are super well understood, hundr

To be fair, the whole hookup thing hasn’t worked too badly for couchsurfing. Perhaps it’s just inevitable that people will use these sites to get laid?

> The disaster isn't that there is no access to the pool. The issue is that they're trying to spite the poors and shame them, because they're trying to prevent them from moving in. That’s really not true though. The facili

It’s not that different in Europe, we still get the same silly virtue-bikeshedding. In my city the government requires developers to include “affordable” flats in luxury developments and then complains when the residents of the “affordable”

Given that the “foundation” didn’t exist pre-ban, I’m not sure why that would have anything to do with this. > Is the fact that the person behind it is guilty of "bad think" a good reason to ban or was it something s\he posted?

They forgot to mention why the account was banned, and it wasn’t banned for “highlighting Nancy Pelosi stock trades”. This is such a bullshit article, it’s entirely built around the premise that there could be no acceptable reason to ban th

This whole story reeks of a paper mill similar to the Israeli group that keeps dropping slight variations of the same covert channel research every couple of months.

There’s some complexity to this though. Gold watches are much more conspicuous than steel watches, but steel watches are often considered far more desirable and retail at a huge premium compared to the more conspicuous gold watches.

You are criticizing a weird strawman here. eSIMs already work on iPhones, it would be difficult for Apple to walk back on that. Removing the SIM slot isn’t a step into that direction, removing standards compliant eSIM support would be. Or m

Money you didn’t waste on buying a house could’ve been invested in less risky faster-appreciating assets like index funds. In many cities where buy prices are high the renter will end up with a higher net worth in the end.

This is ridiculous, there are many cities where it’s vastly cheaper to rent than to own. Look at London or Barcelona for example. Landlords in these cities aren’t hoping to come anywhere near covering their mortgages with rent payments,

In practice this also makes it rather challenging to discuss non-AML issues with clients, because if you’re always willing to discuss non-AML issues it quickly becomes clear which issues are AML issues.
