The same individual animal? Because that seems kind of weird for reasons I can't quite put my finger on. I guess it would be less wasteful though. If you're going to butcher a man-pig to steal his pancreas you might as well use

I'm assuming you're in the USA but geography is relevant to this question. For example, here in Ireland, older cars can be considerably more expensive to tax and insure. I'm trying to sell a 15 year old VW Golf at the moment

I see a lot of skeptical comments on here and I suppose that's healthy, but generally I find news items like this encouraging. We need to find more ways like this to use technology to fight deforestation, pollution and the erosion of t

I assume the "one per second" figure is calculated from the total tree output, not the other way around. As in, whatever rate the drones can plant per day divided by 86,400 and rounded up to one

So if I don't use Emacs, org mode is sort of pointless then? This link is for org mode in vscode which can't do any of those things?

But it really sounds like you're telling me about things Emacs can do. If I don't use Emacs, what advantage does org mode hold for me? This link is for org mode in vscode, which I do use, but from what I can see it doesn't do

Forgive my ignorance but what makes org mode better than markdown? Whenever I see it demonstrated it seems to be just another way of marking up content in plain text. Is there more to it?

The best microwave UI has just two dials. Temperature and time. For years my microwave experience involved mostly just twisting the latter and walking away. I've gone out of my way to find microwaves with this control set. Unfortunatel

Three Web apps and 12 tabs might not be the equivalent of that one app in Electron, if it's a heavy one. If a Chrome browser instance running Slack uses less RAM than the Slack Electron app does, __then__ we can say Electron uses more

Valid point. But also worth pointing out that react native doesn't support win 7 either (probably for that exact reason), and is often suggested as an electron alternative.

maybe not, but electron requires some refactoring and learning a few new things by itself, it's also not a straight swap from a web app.

UWP apps can be written in HTML/JS. You can run local js / html in a webview in most platforms. React Native is pretty much just this. It's a shame there isn't a cross-platform framework using webviews and native framewo

I wonder why more devs who are transitioning from javascript don't simply build a shell native app with a webview in it? UWP or .NET with a webview uses a lot less RAM than electron to do the same thing. I haven't run tests on Mac
