$200,000 to research, develop, design and manufacture something like that is VERY VERY low.

Kudos to Amazon for refunding the guy. I don't think any other hosting company would just take the bullet for the customer.

Also the current design makes the headlines the most contrast (black), which really is the main information on the page. In his "design" he has all kind of visual and distracting garbage, like the orange numbers (why, why???). And yeah, ins

It really depends on the size of the logs, the number of users, and the deal you can negotiate. We paid around $60K/year, but we had quite a lot of logs.

It's much more than that. It lest you query logs, and queries can be very complex, which then gives you a real time result with charts and all. I've used it in production, and it's was the best damn tool to debug production problems. The li

I hope Elon Musk gets all the "man of the year" awards. The man is brilliant, and there's so much resistance to what he's doing, it's insane.

I don't think they x-ray every single package, that's just impossible, and who would look at all the x-rays. So even if they do it, 1) your chances of getting caught are extremely low 2) i don't think you're liable for receiving a package (

My theory is that only idiots get caught. If you read the article, it was a tiny operation considering the global illegal drug market. They only sold $1M worth of drugs in three years, that's silly. They didn't catch some big fish criminals

There are many materials that are stronger than steel and lighter than water. It's all about costs, not about technology.

Did you read that link yourself? The word "lossless" isn't even on that page. I tried setting the highest quality, but that just produces huge files.

So I downloaded libwebp-0.1.3-windows-x86.zip, there is cwebp.exe inside. I can't figure out how to compress PNGs losslessly into WebP. These are the options it gives: Usage: cwebp [-preset <...>] [options] in_file [-o ou

It still looks like somebody threw up design blocks and poked the pile of vomit with a stick trying to make it look nice. It has a shit ton of random blocks that 99.99% of the visitors don't care about and will not bother to read. The title

Take them to a small claims court for damages (money, plus wasted hours dealing with it at your hourly rate). They will probably send some clueless legal intern without any proof.

This is a joke. What's the point of saving up $1M while living in a shitty cheap area, cheap shitty house, no going out, no fun hobbies. Even if you do make six figures (and most people don't), it will take you decades to get $1M, and by th

This is not Iran. Women are allowed to dance around in underwear. And get paid for it. It was that model's choice. She was OK with it. If she's OK with, I'm OK with it.
