Some of them are plain wrong, as well. The ы sound barely ever shows up in english and their explanation of "it's the I in bill" is not right at all. The closest I can get is the imaginary vowel between the D and the N in the

Comments should be based on intention. If I, as the programmer, am writing a piece of code and feel like there's something that I need to communicate about my intention in writing this, then I should. But if it's just surface le

Bootstrapping with forth is a GREAT idea. I think it's one of the best languages to use for bootstrapping. The reason is simple: forth can be almost the first thing in the chain, and it's so flexible that most of the rest of the b

Reminds me of that time my mom spilled a cup of coffee on the keyboard — and then dried it with the hair dryer. We spent a few weeks using the other end of a paint brush to hit the keys whose caps melted off until we could get a new one.

Exactly. I've heard this argument before, that "humans only need their eyes so you only need one forward-pointing camera" but this makes no sense to me. Humans turn around and look at stuff. Your head moves around constantly.

Maybe, but your life is almost definitely more luxurious (unless you live somewhere where that's not the case). Not everyone could manage to live like this, I think.

A very good way to make writing clearer is to replace the words that you don't care to know with other words that are completely inaccurate. Question: how is it helpful for you to label them as a straight couple? Why would it matter to

I wonder why this bothers you so much as to go on the internet and tell everyone what you personally think about who those two people actually are.

The cheat code is that they have a Patreon. They make things that people like, so people pay them for it. "They don't work" is a bit reductive. Working is producing value, and value is whatever people are willing to pay for.

How so? NES games are genuinely more portable than C programs that do anything involving graphics or IO. A simple example is the fact that they use Plan 9 C. I urge you to try making a simple game that runs on both Plan 9 and Linux. The onl
