Yeah, but doesn't that also apply to GCC or LLVM? Download the target-system version and go compiling away. That is not unique to ZIG.

I absolutely love the idea and methods behind OCaml, but the syntax..... I also love Haskell and already feel that its syntax is not easy to grok on larger projects, but OCaml basically went "hold my beer" and went to town on that

I guess so. In a way it makes sense if you can share your code base between the iOS/MacOS app and your backend. It makes development easier. But I guess that the majority of apps is not running MacOS servers for the backend. So far it&

Why would llvm favor linux? FreeBSD also officially moved from GCC to LLVM for the base system, so I don't see why LLVM wouldn't support it.

Are they also gonna take the reigns and officially be the maintainer of the FreeBSD package in ports or are they gonna wait for some volunteer to package it for them and choke on the bug reports whenever someone finds an issue?

EXWM + Qutebrowser can work like that. The individual tabs of Qutebrowser become Emacs buffers.

Maybe a very unpopular opinion, but if you have money to spend on that fad, you are a new level of douche. Take that money and sponsor some open source projects or gift it to charities. If you can’t be arsed to put a plate into a dishwasher

T480 can hold 2 batteries. A swappable and an internal one. At least under FreeBSD the swappable alone gives about 10-11 hours on low brightness. The internal one carries the rest of the way. I did replace the screen with a low power screen

Donated. I think what NetBSD is missing, but also hard to pull off, is something like https://openbsd.amsterdam . A service that people can use where parts of the fees go towards the foundation.

Manufacturing probably way outshines the usage. And, the side-benefit of using old machines with say NetBSD or OpenBSD etc is that it makes people realize that they don't NEED new modern shiny hardware. I am still daily-driving a x220

I guess. That's why I added the "unless I am mis-interpreting", still got downvoted for it because I guess it was against AI. The wording was confusing but so was my understanding of it as a non-native speaker. Shit happens.

So, unless this went r/woosh over my head....how is current AI better than shit post-transformers? If all....old shit post-transformers are at least deterministic or open and not a randomized shitbox. Unless I misinterpreted the post,

I am still waiting for OpenBSD to add support. They do use Asahi to get the install going. But unless I am mistaken, only up to M2 is supported now.

To be fair, as much as Rust macros are nice, it is a losing battle to go up against the Lisp macro system. Lisp might have its flaws, but macros in Lisp are second to none. When to use them is a whole different story. But examples of macros

The irony is that over the last decades we have come up with languages that try to remove the ambiguity. Some close to English, some not. The very specific "this is what I want you to do" languages. Almost like they are...describi
