Behance looks good. Thanks for the tip! I'd rather avoid generic contracting/freelance sites, as I feel like the quality would be "all over the map" as you say. I'd prefer looking for artist communities, especially if they have forums that

Yes! I'd love for a startup to come in and do a better job than TurboTax, and target LLCs, S-Corps, and small C-Corps. This would be amazing!

If you are a small team (e.g., 1-2 people) already based in CA, it's less hassle (and slightly cheaper) in the first several years. Once you have gained traction and secured VC backing, it is possible that they will ask you to convert to a

One suggestion: for the majority of startups (based in California) that will use your service, it might be easier to register as a California C Corp. I can't imagine any VC denying you funding because you are not a DE corp. Plus, you save ~

Congrats! Can you elaborate on this point? Despite being an iOS game 95% of development was done on PC. Was it a C++/OpenGL game that had a small iOS AppDelegate / GLKit / UIKit / etc scaffold?

Yeah, I didn't include ads for my first year either. Now, my model going forward will always be: Free + iAds/AdMob + IAP to get more content and remove the ads. There are people who can never pay you (kids whose parents have disabled IAP).

Additionally: Since you already have a web-playable version of the game, you should have a feature where a user can share a puzzle with a friend. Once they complete a challenging puzzle, say something like "Congrats. You demolished that puz

Welcome to the App Store! I'm very impressed with what you guys have done in 6 months; it took me much longer to ship my first app. Here's a little bit of feedback: + The graphics are super polished. Great work! + The touch interaction coul

Treat it like learning how to speak a foreign language (e.g., Spanish). There's obviously too much to learn, and it is easy to become overwhelmed. However, you can learn bits and pieces at a time. Just learn things as you go, and as you nee

I agree with this sentiment. Learning how to cook teaches you how to appreciate food, and helps you think differently about how food is prepared and even consumed. Learning how to code, even if you don't become a professional programmer, wi

(In the far future) if Google Glass could automatically upload video of what you're seeing to your cloud storage, you could have a searchable log of your entire life. Reminds me of these projects: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MyLifeBits

Thanks for your link, but I've investigated MIDI support in JS. I actually work on piano/guitar apps, and would love to build a high performing, low latency app that hooks up with a physical keyboard. If you know how this can be done, pleas

Thanks for reading! I remember reading a lot about other developers when I started out, so I just want to make sure I give back. Plus, it's a bit of free marketing for my apps. :-)

HTML5 just needs a better sound API (e.g., programmatic playback, midi) so that we can make better games/apps. Many games just fall back to Flash for their sound.

In the immediate future, I think I'll stick with adding new content (more paid song packs and more free songs). Farther in the future, it might be fun to add a "game" section where users can play short DDR/GuitarHero style games to practice

Thanks for your feedback as well! I definitely don't have a graphic design background, so maybe I'll look on themeforest at some point. I just want to keep the site as lightweight as possible though, in case iPhone users visit it.

You definitely don't have to fail before you succeed. But if it happens, just accept it, learn something, and move on. Do you have it on the iPod or iPad? On the iPad, you'll see a banner ad that spans the bottom of the display. That gene

Your landing pages are nicely designed. Some small suggestions: on Track My Ride, I found the "Get Protected Today" font not very readable and a bit tacky. Also, I don't understand why "Chat with us" looks like a Christmas present. On my 15
