Seriously, do we honestly believe 80 hours a week coding is a good thing. What, is he this bad at coding. What about he spends 4 hours a week coding cause he’s so good at coding. Way more impressive.

Here is a random journal article, but a quick google search will pull up a lot more. https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/2050324520904540

I’m saying most users of hard drugs are not addicts.

Seems reasonable, I don’t think we would have allowed the sale of tobacco if we knew then what we know now. Also it’s a drug that is mostly just addiction. It doesn’t really have a high until you are addicted to it, so I’m not sure non addi

Compared to what? Do we think throwing everyone in jail and having the cops spend their time chasing around after drug users is a success? If people are upset at drug users using drugs in public (which seems to be the thing everyone actuall

It depends on the team and the stakes. Sometimes your team will surprise you but often they’ll horribly disappoint you. If the stakes are low, sure do whatever, but if shit matters …

Just to chime in on apartment living in Dublin. There was a period during the late 80s and 90s when awful apartments were built in dublin (private buildings as well as social housing). Really bad sound insulation, build quality and design.

You are not wrong but the point I was making was that framing this as a war is incorrect. Wars have armies on both sides. Wars aren’t fought between an army and a bunch of trapped civilians who can’t escape between people with the latest hi

There is no war going on. Wars happen between nations and between armies. Whatever this is it is not a war.

Then why aren’t the Olympics being won by trans women. They are not. Why isn’t the NCAA dominated by trans women ? Because it turns out it’s a giant nothing burger. Like I said, you would expect 1% of the winners to be trans women but actua

There is no advantage that shows up in the data to show that trans athletes have an advantage in sports. If there were we would see trans-athletes winning lots of medals. They don't. In fact there just aren't that many athletes. T

It’s not unfair because there doesn’t seem to be an advantage in the data to being a trans woman in sport. When it shows in the data then we can talk about it. The other stuff is the real issue for you I think. Maybe that is just something

Pretty sure this is a hoax/satire/anti-trans argument. So, going to just answer the anti trans piece. There is no trans athletes dominating sport. Even us talking about it is because conservatives want to use it as a wedge issue.

I’m fairly skeptical about AI hype, but there are probably plenty of applications of the tech for use in scientific discovery. Just not the “Albert Einstein bot” or whatever that gives you fully formed scientific theories. More like tools t

My point was that the model used was oversimplified so much that it was worthless and would fall at the first hurdle. Your conversion rate is a function of the traffic. You can’t change the traffic without impacting the conversion rate. I w

This is happening in the real world, not some imaginary world and so we must talk about real effects. As soon as you turn on a torrent of paid traffic conversion rates go to shit. So your old conversion rate doesn’t work anymore and is just

Sure and it's not true of comparison across the USA either, lots of places you just straight up cannot get a phone line let alone broadband. It is comparable across two metro areas though, I think that comparison is fair.

Hoffman is a joke and is not respected by anyone in the coffee industry, he's a pretentious twat and exactly the opposite of what coffee needs. Most content you see online is pay-to-play so if you spend more money you get more content.

incidentally the price of broadband is also much cheaper, you can get 1Gig in Dublin for 50 euros per month (about $54). For that price in LA I can get 50Mbps. https://switcher.ie/broadband/ireland/dublin/?eir
