Well that depends on your luck, it could be a valid one about 1/16th of the time.

Anyone knows why this is called “decryption”? I thought that the mechanism was simply a fuse that would deny reading/debugging operations, is there actual crypto involved?

This article (with high slop vibes) and another article on their site (linked in the comments) seem to suggest that post quantum encryption mitigated the Sybil attack, without explanation. I fail to understand how the two are even related.

Cool theory but that should result in other attacks that peak in February too, can you give examples?

So do I read it correctly that good old detective work did the job, and that breaking e2e encryption and client side scanning wasn’t needed? Politicians tell me a different story.

I thought that your “background in literature” contributed to the “well-written docs”, but that was LLMs!

Anecdotal, and even meta-anecdotal, but hey: four months ago I started to supplement omega 3 thanks to this hyperbolic HN comment: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=45169875 Unlike the commenter, I didn’t suddenly turn i

Multiple people have coined the idea repeatedly, way before you. The oldest comment on HN I could find was in December 2022 by user spawarotti: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=33856172

I used to believe that I was working with JSON schema through OpenAPI 3.0, but then I learned a hard lesson that it uses an “extended subset” of it. And what does that mean? It “means that some keywords are supported and some are not, some

Classic. I see issues. Vendor’s status page is all green. Go to HN to find the confirmation. Applies to AWS, GH, everyone. Edit: beautiful, this decentralised design of the internet.

I love Go. It makes that I get shit done. I picked up Go more than ten years ago, because it was HN’s darling and when I didn’t know about hype cycles. No regrets.

Slightly off topic: typically, lights of neighboring towers blink asynchronously. But sometimes they are synchronized. Very satisfying. Anyone knows how this works? My best guess is e.g. DCF77. Thoughts?

What I understand is that this SS7 is difficult to get rid of. If I understand it correctly, the purpose of the location queries is for routing calls/messages. Couldn’t (shouldn’t?) telecom providers run monitoring and alerting if loca

I have received a few LLM produced PRs from peers from adjacent teams, in good faith but not familiar with the project, and they increasingly infuriate me. They were all garbage, but there’s a great asymmetry: it costs my peers nothing to g
