They can already do it now and they aren't. If you have to convince the board, the shareholders etc to take on a risk that has a high chance of failure, it has even less chance of happening. If a person has enough control at a company

Different people are motivated by different things. While its true that scientists and engineers and everyone else have done a great deal in advancing things, the sad reality is that unless someone fronts the money, nothing will get done.

If you put an upper limit, you'll have people stop once they hit that limit. Why would you go after that billion dollar idea when you are hard capped at millions? Nobody would ever go after moonshots. If we're talking about fantas

The fundamental issue here is human behavior. Whatever system you come up with, people will come up with ways to turn it to their advantage.

Landing the rocket is the first step in figuring out reuse. Its irrelevant that it probably did not involve some scientific breakthrough - in fact it makes it all the more sadder that no-one bothered to do it before. Same situation with Tes

Cost is likely not as a big an issue for Bezos as it is for Musk. They could blow up a bunch of rockets every year and still not hurt for cash. This gives them quite a bit of advantage. I think BO are going to nail down re-usability first a

Honestly, the universe would easily be able to sustain our rapaciousness if we had the tech to actually go and claim it. I actually really like Bezos' idea of moving all industries off-planet.

The point of that exercise was to show whether you knew how to do it. Things like division and multiplication etc are so basic that you should know how to do it even if you haven't done it for years. As for mental arithmetic, its main

I believe the OP's exercise was to do the division manually not mentally. Basic mental arithmetic is probably the most used in day-to-day life. It feels weird having to whip out a calculator/phone every time you need to make a qui

As I understand it, this is a fundamental problem for any low latency network. You could fix the problem by introducing delays but that would break the low latency requirement.
