With the release of their chicken sandwich, Popeye's had one of the most successful fast food product launches in the past few years. This launch was so successful that nearly every major restaurant chain launched their own chicken san

You can't change Chuck-E-Cheese tokens back into real money. The entire point is that they get all of your real money at the time when you buy the tokens, making it irrelevant whether you use them afterward at all.

I don't understand why new languages ever use the :: notation for scoping. It's hard to type (holding shift for two keystrokes) and visually noisy. Obviously, C++ set the precedent and people are familiar with it. But if you'

The point is that most people cannot tell when the vocal is adjusted to the grid, because if they could, they would be complaining about it on every single vocal track since the 80s. "Auto-Tune" is meaningless if you use it to ref

Pitch correction (in the non-Auto-Tune and non-vocoder sense) is used in literally all commercial vocal recordings. There's nothing really subtle about it. EDIT: This guy is right about both of those tracks using Auto-Tune.

Are you talking about Antares Auto-Tune? Or are you talking about pitch correction with Melodyne or in-DAW pitch tools? Or do you mean finer-grained pitching with vocal track slicing and pitching? Or do you mean splicing together tons of di

If I block you, I want it to prevent you from reading my tweets. Obviously you can use a logged-out browser window, but that extra step is supposed to be annoying enough to prevent most non-psycho people from reading your stuff.

Why not? As far as "looking for something to do", preserving a dying language seems a lot more interesting than a lot of other things people do with their spare time.

The sadness of losing a language is distinct from the question of whether it would be better if everyone spoke the same language.

It's only not sad if you live with a completely utilitarian life where art and the beauty of human creation have no value. Why don't we all just listen to one song, wear the same outfit and live in identical homes? Regardless of w
