First, I don't consider that immutable. Second, that isn't true for all databases, often you have to set it up and turn it on, and think about what you're doing as there are considerations for storage and backups. Third, it i

You realize that isn't how it works, right? It shouldn't be OK to make wild claims without evidence that need to be backed up. It's the other way: you need good evidence to back up wild claims.

There are sidewalks on much of US1, but no, it isn't surprising that more highway-like roads do not have sidewalks.

If you are making claims you have to back them up somewhat.

Most roads don't need through traffic, at least in densely populated areas. We should focus on making it so cars do not drive where people want to be walking. In my small town, there are a lot of aggressive drivers. Of course there are

This is such bullshit. My mother tried to be a good mom but never addressed her mental health issues, leading to four kids having pretty severe problems twenty, thirty years later. She took decades from us, though she "tried to live&qu

Right? Kids are different, but honestly not that different from adults. Just more impressionable, because they are learning the world. And of course less knowledgeable and developed by definition. But they work a lot of the same ways. Would

Uhm... where do animals get these extra calories from if not their food? Can you explain this to me please? How can the calories out be more than the calories in? Or are you suggesting people don't get all the calories they eat from pl

Exactly. What people are suggesting is we need a practical alternative: factory farming doesn't seem to be it.

How much land would that require if you extrapolated it out to our current meat consumption? How about 2x, since it's projected our consumption will double by 2050? Does the land physically exist?

The argument? It's not an argument - livestock does produce CO2. It is a fact. I don't eat meat partially for this reason. I still have no idea what it means with regards to your original statement.

I am against factory farming, but I think the CO2 numbers are usually "Co2 equivalent" (at least if the study is being honest) and sources put cows at 100kg/kg to 300kg/kg for CO2eq - several I found say that 188kg CO2eq

We haven't been factory farming for even a hundred years (not really). I would also challenge that cows evolved to be efficient at producing CO2? haha.

Seems like the global average for beef is 188 kg of CO2 equivalent per kg - and the article suggests that "each kilogram of ACBM produces 542 pounds (246 kg) to 3,325 pounds (1,508 kg) of carbon dioxide emissions" That's a HU

You have to explain to me what this: > Livestock is grown in parts of the world on stuff which cannot be sold or which grows on its own - example: grass etc. Has to do with CO2 produced from raising livestock? I can't connect the tw

Rarely does it shake out that way - it is usually the other way! More responsibility ("you'll need to grow into the role, or work hard to be promoted") and less pay :)
