Perhaps they should use Disquss for their actual startup articles, and for their troll friendly iPhone/Android/etc posts they can turn on the Facebook comments? Or better yet, stop posting the troll friendly articles...

I swap between my small kindle and a portrait oriented 24" monitor for programming books. I'll read the normal text on the kindle then use PC for the programming bits, which are often tutorials that I need to do anyway. I'm going to give th

It sucks that so many of those books are not available in ebook format, I would have thought programmers would be leading the way in ebook adoption. I own Code Complete, and have for a year or two now yet I've not even got 1/4 of the way th

I use 6 at home - it's awesome. Shortcut keys to move monitors around are great, dragging and snapping etc are awesome. Only thing missing is the multiple monitor taskbars which Ultramon provides for a fee.

I enjoyed Youtube's coverage of the Indian Premier League twenty20 cricket tournament last year. Though the performance was sometimes a bit poor - a couple of games we were halfway through the match then all of a sudden the coverage jumped

.NET documentation is really good. I can't quantify it as being the best but there is so much training material out there. Examples: Tons of free video tutorials: http://www.asp.net/web-forms http://www.asp.net/mvc http://www.mvcconf.

yes their software used to be the best but that was a long time ago, and things were simpler then. From what I can tell they are cancelling all their different software efforts and focusing on making great hardware to go with Microsofts ope

yes but it's something they've been failing at for years. People buy their phones (around the world) because they make the best hardware, but they're losing ground to others who can make much better software.

Most of those examples are basically "company x tried to sell a Windows Mobile phone back when smart phones weren't anywhere near the market they are today, and when Windows mobile was very average and it didn't work out." Hardly seems like

exactly, just as Android looked to tap into the market of developers who know Java will, WP7 goes for C# developers - of which there are many. Microsoft treat their developers well.

This seems pretty far fetched to me. It's also likely that Elop just realizes (perhaps more so given his background) how much Microsoft wants to be a major player in this game, how much money and talent they're willing to throw at it and kn

I think it would be just like giving a discount to bulk orders. Nokia will buy a huge amount of licenses compared to dell, htc or any other supplier. Once the app ecosystem grows other suppliers will want to be a part of it.

SE, Samsung, Motorola, HTC are all heavily invested in Android and are miles ahead of Nokia. They can chose to run an outside lane in that race, or they can lead up Windows Phone 7. All people with WP7 devices are just token efforts, Dell,
