Here's the link to Process Explorer: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/proc... It also has an option to replace Task Manager so that it comes up when you do Ctrl+Shift+Esc, etc.

I think this impression has a lot to do with current implementations of VR and AR. Most people who've tried VR probably agree that it's already a unique experience. Even without state of the art hardware, it feels different than

Right, I think it would be more accurate to say "The machine, smart enough to choose the easier approach for solving the task". It simply found an accurate and easy way to pass the discriminator and stuck with it.

This is a really interesting point to think about. I've considered this before: if there were some world superpower with an unstoppable military and a "good" political system, would it be right or wrong for them to take over

I'm curious, are there papers in other ML fields that could be considered breakthroughs comparable in impact to AlexNet? For NLP the recent ELMo and BERT papers for word embeddings come to mind, although their scope is somewhat differe

I think that's not a great comparison. Hacker News is still essentially a niche site known to people who care about a specific set of fields relevant to startups. If you asked a random person on the street they probably wouldn't k

Interestingly the University of Washington put out an email notice nearly an hour before AlertSeattle sent one. You'd think the city would make it a higher priority to let everyone know that 911 is down. Not sure if they did a text mes

I think the 80/20 problem - the top 80% of women matching with top 20% of men [1] - is a major issue preventing dating (not hookups) with current apps. Most of my guy friends who use Tinder swipe right very generously because they don&
