Erm .. what is the point of Rails here? This can be done with Rack, Sinatra, Node, Go. I really like Rails, but I get a bit annoyed when people use it everywhere even where it is not a good fit e.g. no need of activerecord, no server side t

Berlin. Live here and love it. Reasonably big, multicultural city with excellent public transport. You can go anywhere within 1 hour by public transport (average 25 mins). Eat any cuisine anytime, tons of startups, meetups and social events

Alpine linux is great, however lack of JDK (needed for Java/Scala/Clojure/JRuby/Groovy projects) keeps me from using it. Hopefully this can be fixed soon :)

I agree, but you also have to consider the crazy inflation rate there. Not to mention cost of housing and no decent public infrastructure. You need a lot of money just to get a reasonable standard of living there.

You should also check your memory + cpu usage when browsing. My laptop was on fire. I think they tried to do too much, I simple selection + slide show would have sufficed.

Mike is one of the nicest developers around, if he read the code of an open-source project and re-wrote it in a different language I do not see what the problem is. Then again, I am no lawyer but this is kinda scary.

You would think Indians are lucky in this regard. It's actually the opposite, despite being a software developer who earned reasonably well (compared to the norm) I dread the thought of going to a good hospital. I just don't have

This looks good. I have done a few Backbone projects and inevitably write some of this code as boilerplate. Great to see that the framework handles this for me while giving me the flexibility to fall back on standard Backbone functions when

Well this sucks, in India even after speaking Java, Ruby, CoffeeScript and Scala I get a measly $35,000 which after taxes goes down to $25,000. Yeah, I know low cost of living etc. etc.
