Gonna leave out housing and education, but for healthcare, you are painfully incorrect. European countries has vastly more regulated healthcare and yet pay about an order of magnitude less for it.

I honestly never understood this argument. Corporations don't just emit greenhouse gases for the fun of it, like some sort of villain, they do it because they produce the stuff that we, the "ordinary citizens" buy like mad ev

I also find it baffling that people still think about things the way you do. It's not necessarily some kind of inferiority complex or anything else, it's about the free market.

I appreciate this as a joke, but on a serious note, I'm not sure if I should mock or encourage this project. My intuition is that, if the intention is indeed as they portray it, then this sounds totally doable and commendable. Designin

It is amazing just how many people draw conclusions from having visited Amsterdam for coffeeshops and the Red Light District, without having cycled or gone outside of Amsterdam's city center. The city center in Amsterdam is not the Net

If it was something truly idiotic or malevolent, sure. Otherwise, that would be a really crap culture to work in.

I would be genuinely impressed if you can successfully defend your point of view. I fail to see how it would be possible for a single type of port for everything to increase waste and worsen consumer convenience.

There are exceptions like this everywhere in Europe. Can't speak for Denmark specifically, but anecdotally most countries in Europe have similar rules - certain workers cannot legally strike the same way McDonald's workers can.

I think you are forgetting that, at least in principle, the government is just some folks we decide should handle the laws & stuff in the country so that we can go about our lives. Your comment makes it sound like those pesky 'peop

Not sure if that's quite right? The ones targeted by the law and activists for illegal logging are usually companies connected to politicians. They are indeed violent, but they don't get to benefit from any excuses like the one yo

You're definitely right technically. The problem is that Europe is split up into dozens of countries with very somewhat different values and cultures, so whenever you say "In Europe X happens", then you can always invoke some

There is this one thing I always wonder about, not just in this particular context, but generally about what is seen as "greedy" corporations, politicians and so on. Was the conversation ever blatantly villainous or was it a bit m

Well, I actually I agree with a lot of the stuff you write, but definitely disagree on taxes. The main point I disagree with is that adding taxes somehow makes your choices seem okay. I don't really think that's the way to look at

I don't think you really understand what cost means in this case. Or a compromise. Thinking that cost just means paying more -> bad is a very simplistic way to look at things. Cost, especially via taxation, means setting aside a par

No offence, but I think you are extremely wrong. Creating an AGI is the endgame for everything. Who cares about ads when you have an AI that can learn to do anything and improve upon itself continuously?
