I've gotten into the "debate." People always suggest using anything but python but then provide no alternatives to the frameworks mentioned above. You _could_ certainly write it in Go. I write a lot of stuff in Go and I lo

To add to this, I hopped to escape the politics on mastodon (more akin to 2000s style IRCs or forums) but visiting after a few months (mas.to instance) it seems even more polarizing than twitter. 8/10 posts on the explore tab are a &q

I think this question will be answered better in a few months. I was finally able to make an account (when I tried most servers weren't allowing it) and I followed a ton of people that moved off twitter... but I came to realize they se

I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice this. Maybe its because every other platform seems to have "fixed" it. Only "spam" I get now is DMs on Twitter and Instagram. However, I _see_ a ton of spam on youtube

I have extended family from there. They escaped the worst of communism decades ago and I remember only a few years ago they mentioned how they finally think that Moldova has a chance to progress. Tragic all around.

Yep, I will 100% admit they "look better" but I'm convinced productivity is not the same. I'm all for having "collaborative" spaces but surely the optimal environment is one where employees can get hours of wo

Yep! I mean honestly, a rather nice "perk" of working with a company could be a private office, almost like an extension of your home... but within reason. They have the building anyways. Similar to how professors at university u

I honestly hate open offices so much. I'm constantly amazed any work gets done with the layout.

Interesting company. I wonder if their "unique culture" is still around or if its toned down now that he's left.

The "average" user just knows "chrome is fast" because for the last 10 years, that's what they've heard. Even a lot of older people I talk to seem to use chrome. This is especially so for the younger generati

Well its hardly a shocker that most people prefer to work less for the same pay, lol. IMO, employers should just let employees work to whatever schedule fits, as long as they can make any meetings and reasonable goals are met.

Makes sense. I suppose that may be enticing for some. I just don't know how many people would sign up for it when there's tons of companies dangling RSUs and insane bonuses or the opportunity to do a startup and get acquired. I

Well, I know there's more to life than comp but when it comes to deciding what to do for work, its a huge factor. I'm just wondering how you would get a similar comp in OPs system.

I just don't understand the incentive and it seems like it would end up as a race to the bottom, no? Perhaps maybe its a good starting point for developers or those just wanting smooth sailing... but for others... why stay in a "s

That is true. I mean, I'm sure this will negatively effect quite a few people... I just don't see it replacing the majority of artists anytime soon.

Yep. I spent a good hour trying to generate some stuff with DALLE. I then asked a friend that works in media and he was able to give me ideas for a prompt that worked almost immediately. AI art is fun and _sometimes_ it can replace some t

I was under the impression that it has _always_ been hard to make a living as an artist. I think this is just a truth people will have to accept. I used to make music and quickly realized I would have to dedicate 1000s of hours to it if I

I normally don't care about this stuff... and it seems like a "nothing issue" but it really feels like someone is smoothing off the edges of classic works here. All those changes culminate in an overall reversion to the mean

I've worked with 100s of clients in the US and we rarely ever had internet issues. At most it was just someone dialing in or something dropping connection. What _is_ a problem (and maybe what OP meant) is when people that aren't

Yea, I honestly don't doubt it. I've had a rep lie straight to my face telling me demonetized content didn't affect the recommendation of the video. Everyone knew it was a lie but they only admitted it years later.
