Backups are interesting, and something I had considered as a primary feature of the site. However this site is (currently) just me, and I don't feel that I could wholeheartedly say that a backup system relying on a single person is a good i

I'm hoping to offer a bunch of features other than unlimited photo uploads to entice users into subscriptions. More features, such as being able to share private collections (albums/sets) with others, or increased control over what they see

This is pretty interesting to me as I've been spending the last month preparing my soon-to-be startup; (hopefully) a competitor to Flickr/500px: https://photographer.io Obviously I can't compete with that free space which they're giving o

There are far fewer controls and standards for horse meat in much of the EU, meaning a lot of the meat which was being passed off as beef could potentially contain dangerous drugs not fit for human consumption. If it's properly regulated th

Hehe, I did consider blocking phone pictures, but some people get some great shots on them and I don't want to miss out on those. I've even managed a few rare half-decent ones: https://photographer.io/p/10 I think most people are actually

Thanks! If you use it and have any feedback then I'd be really happy to hear it. Aye there are quite a few other sites out there, and I really need to flesh out a page explaining how Photographer.io is different and why you should use it. I

Aaah, that would make sense; there's so little documentation for UK users at the moment that I wasn't sure if something like that was the case. So I'm assuming I can only charge in GBP or EUR with a UK bank account?

That's the problem I'm facing at the moment; each currency would be relevant to a certain section of my current user base. Plenty of users in the USA, about the same in the UK and EU, and a sizeable number in Australia too. I'm not sure if

Stripe only lets me choose one currency for an account, as far as I know. The target market is everywhere! I didn't want to plug it above, but it's a new photography community which you can currently see in beta: https://photographer.io .

It's a bit weird; I actually really like the G+ interface when used on the Nexus 7, but it just doesn't look good on the desktop. I now have 3 columns of tiny boxes, and I don't really understand why. Couldn't it just be flexible width, two

Hah, that's exactly it. Whenever anyone applies more pressure than needed I normally just try to tense my hand, i.e. immovable object meeting the unstoppable force. I think that might prompt them to squeeze harder, though.

I actually don't know how hard I'm shaking hands. I never go in strong, and I've never felt like a big guy, but I always find it really difficult to tell if I'm applying more strength than I think I am. Any time someone tries to crush my ha

I'll have multiple file drag & drop in for the very first release, but after that I'm hoping to implement the ability to import from other services. And further down the line I'd love to be able to offer Lightroom/Aperture plugins for e

Aye, I'm not sure how big a market I'll have at the moment. The goal is actually to build a community somewhere between the two, as there are parts of both I don't like. I'd like to promote constructive criticism rather than fanboy comments

I'm actually trying to build a somewhat alternative to 500px/Flickr at the moment, and one area I'm really concentrating on is the EXIF data. I'm actually thinking of giving users more control over what data is kept inside their photos afte

It's somewhat relevant (due to the input/output interpretation), not excessively expensive, and there are loads of great short domains available. I've got a few myself, my favourite being iso.io; which is for an in-progress photography site

Yeah, it's not anything amazing from my experience. I've heard the FEAR games had decent AI, as well as Far Cry. If we're not talking FPS then I've been impressed by the AI in XCOM. God damn those bastards are hard work.
