This type of design isn't useful. Round things don't fit neatly anywhere on a desk. Air cooling makes no sense when your design goal is high performance in a small space. What would really be useful is something 2.5" thick an

I loved the magic trackpad 2, the main thing that held me back from switching away from osx. Now I love the logitech mx master. It has a thumb button that lets you do window management stuff that is 4 finger gestures on the mac trackpad.

I was all in with apple and went there for pc building help after the weak macbook update. I can get all the pcie ssds and ram upgrades I want now. Skylake integrated graphics somehow drives a 4k display snappier than a max 2015 macbook p

Apple products are immune from criticism. You can be a life long mac owner and buy all the latest releases. But if you have a problem with the 2016 macbook pro well then, "you're just a hater". OK mac community. I'm

Yes. Every firmware engineer works with assembly but barely any x86 devs ever touch assembly.

Most of the microcontrollers being used in new designs today are arm-cortex. Everybody who does microcontroller work except some pic weirdos is familiar with arm-cortex.

We could talk about the same problem in terms of why they still teach HC11 assembly in engineering school instead of teaching the industry standard arm-cortex. It is because most people in higher education are out of touch.

Yeah, I was told the game had to be shitty because some players still had pentium 3s. This argument was ridiculous as I was playing on a eee-pc (single core intel atom) with an external 19" monitor. My hardware was too good it wasn&#

I played a little bit years ago. I didn't like how the map was zoomed in so far, I wanted to zoom out more. I messed with the source code to let me zoom out more and shared how to do it. They told me I was cheating so I never played

I thought the macbook with amd was fine on 4k especially after getting the right cable for 60hz. The i5 with intel 530 is better. Maybe it is because graphics cards are designed more for 3d processing than for general 4k performance. I tr

It is the stuff around the cpu that is improving. Those 2013 chips cannot properly drive a 4k display. Even a 2014 macbook pro with amd graphics is sluggish on 4k. But, a modern skylake with intel 530 integrated graphics can drive a 4k s

I remember my 1 year old birthday party and plenty of stuff before that. I remember finding an unprotected outlet and putting a butter knife in it. It made me involuntarily fling the knife across the room. My mom came in and got mad at m

It depends on if your state machine scheme is concise and makes human sense. Too many flags and state machines can become difficult to debug or work with.

I did some verilog in college. For many years I worked with a guy who only knew verilog and hardware design until he started coding late in his career. It was very interesting to work with his code. He used bitfields everywhere like in ver

Apple should stick the magic mouse surface onto keyboard keys. Imagine being able to use a home row key as a tiny trackpad. You could also scroll by swiping down on a key. Never have to move your hands from home row. Come on apple!

I got to stay in a house that had a nest thermometer. The AC compressor happened to be broken and the nest perpetually said 1 hour until cool. Nest isn't smart enough to detect a broken AC.
