Weird. I’ve lived here for 12 years. Things seem slightly better if not the same.

I’ve tried a few times to use software like this but nothing for me competes with the simplicity of a shared file folder and VLC.

I want to try this sometime. I’m in the process of learning rust by creating something using rocket.rs. Apparently this is out of style and more people use Axum now. But I’m going to keep going with rocket.

I’m the type who always has a side project going. But I do sometimes wonder why we don’t expect plumbers to go home after their 8 hours and mess around with their home plumbing lab in the basement for another 2 :)

I will work on actually connecting with people IRL. It’s always been my tendency to retreat socially but Covid was the final nail in the coffin for my social life. So I will go out of my way to spend time with others. Also I will keep worki

Sure is nice to meet your co workers in the Golden Gate Park and live near arguably, the most beautiful locations in the US. If you’re working yourself to the bone at a startup may as well do it somewhere nice.

I like this project. I used it to create a website that lets me turn a list of articles on the web into a podcast I can subscribe to via my phone.

I'd probably just own some kind of cycling adjacent coffee/bicycle shop where I barely do anything but nod towards my workers and talk with everyone who visits.

It would be interesting if some insurance companies ended up offering you a "healthy life" service where they give you time w/ a nutritionist/therapist or even provide healthy foods. Maybe this would be cheaper for them

Most of the "tech bros" and "SaaS sisters" I know came from working class means. They might make six figures, but still can't afford a home.

It's crazy to me we exist in a world where we can render hyper realistic 3d scenes and play games that once felt like they would be impossible to render on consumer grade hardware AND in the world where we are still trying to perfect p

I wonder what happens if your consumer base has all had their incomes replaced by AI? Who buys your product your now making with it? Does AI just lead to the end of capitalism as we know it?

I have to hope this is mostly FUD or these teachers are using examples from dysfunctional communities drowning in poverty and crime. Otherwise we are headed towards idiocracy where anything complicated was just automatically handled by AI c

I understand your take, and in many ways regret sending my data to them, but through this service I did find 6+ siblings I was not aware of, as well as my father. So it does provide some benefits.

Agreed. You could also maybe have special tracks in these roads that the cars could attach to so they would not need tires. Additionally I bet you could link them together so the robots could carry hundreds of people at once. I bet you coul

Electric cars are totally overboard. I think that if you change infrastructure a bit you will see many get bike-pilled by electric bikes. Especially as Americans get poorer and unable to afford automobiles.
