As a type 1 I still need insulin even if I'm completely keto. It's not just carbs that affect blood glucose; as you pointed out, exercise and sleep can affect sugar among other things (stress, infections, meditation, using the toi

Pleroma has had this for years.... markdown, bbcode, and limited HTML support. Pleroma has a lot of features that Mastodon doesn't, such as support for statuses of much longer than 500 chars. There's a running gag, "Pleroma d

Can we call it the Chinese big balloon instead? Because from what I gather that thing was massive. Future big balloons also will not necessicarily be used for espionage - worse case scenarios involve dropping harmful payloads.

Statusnet began more than 15 years ago. You don't think mastadon (sp) will be around for long. How much longer do you think it has? Mastodon began 6 years ago and has seen nothing but upward growth since.

If someone tries to argue that Twitter isn't centralized, I don't think they really understand what centralization means.

by robobro 4y ago
HN isn't just links. It's also discussion threads. It is centralized in that these links and discussions don't happen in some abstract cloud that's not strictly limited to this instance managed by our BDFL
