I use ambiance ( http://ambianceapp.com/iphone ) a lot when working, you can record your own sounds or download lots of free ones. I find airplane noise quite good, or low frequency humming. I think half the effect comes from people thinkin

I think it's a worry that controls like radio buttons are using non symantic mark up. Is this down to a problem with browser vendors not allowing full styling of basic controls? Perhaps they should have a no css tag, simular to no scrip tha

Sony aren't great at protecting data, but then again I've had my Xbox live account hacked. Both as bad as each other really...

How about breaking down the email domains into students, faculty, departments, collages etc. That way it's less disruptive across the board when domains are blocked.

Yes but if you had it split into three experts for each area the chance of they all getting hit by a bus? Also I think if you hire an expert in field x, there is a lot higher chance that their coding style and practice will be easier for an

I agree it's becoming a lot easier to find out who people are on the internet, but its still very easy to create a new pseudonym and no one will know who you are :)

Less that can do more in less time is normally more expensive. Seperating out areas into design, front end and back end development also splits your risk.

That's interesting, I teand to get to SO as a result of a Google search rather than searching directly. Also I find most questions are simple implementation issues or bugs, rather than around complex design problems. Perhaps I am missing a

I tend to see SO questions as being rather simple, such as why doesn't this API work, or what's wrong with my Syntax or what does this stack trace mean. When you are more advanced your questions become more architectural and harder to conve

What language do you use stack overflow for?

I wonder if the "popularity" of a language is related to the fact people are learning it. More people could be developing in Java, but more people are learning JavaScript and therefore active on Stack Overflow. I generally find I use Stack

I think the industry will just find a way, things like steam will cover marketing, 3rd party developed engines and frameworks will cover development costs, and auto generated environments will aid with increased environment size. If it does

They have a presentation about what's coming in HTML5 at a Google dev con and you are surprised they didn't go to the effort to make it work in browsers that, at the time, may not have even supported these features?

So you’re saying you scroll while you read, and it's a noticeable advantage than when you hit the bottom your reading is slightly easier because the page didn't move a fraction. I would have thought if you are already scrolling and reading,

Valid point, well put. The danger is that changes to screen size aren't always reflected by the software, so you may have a small screen that scales down, or a large screen with wasted real estate. See the host of apps that haven't update f

I don't think anyone is saying the iPhone 5 is easier to use in one hand than the iPhone 4. The argument that a smaller screen, allows for a smaller surface area, that is easier to navigate is obvious. 3.5 is easier to use than 4 which is e

Ok that makes a lot more sense. As the guy said HTC don't do a good job of communicating these features, the advert shows a guy falling asleep and as he shuts his eyes the phone locks... I have never actually had this problem though general
