The point is, it's also outside the reach of the public internet, so you can't get "proper" HTTPS anyway (unless you get a custom root CA). I fail to see the danger added in making this ip "Secure". Suddenly, a

What on earth is this comment even about. First of all, HTTP/2 has a lot of advantage over HTTP/1.1, like server push. Saying it doesn't provide the benefits it claimed is wrong. It uses a single TCP connection, which for web

There's a good point in GP's post though. The thing is, one day quantum computers WILL BE available to the NSA or whatever. And they also have the means to record all encrypted transmissions (and they probably do). So one day, the

If you're using the nouveau drivers, everything's fine, but you don't get hardware acceleration. That means no games, but mostly tearing-free rendering, and no artifacts. The nvidia proprietary drivers is probably what's

It's not a security problem really. That's just a side issue. The problem is, today, if I want to watch a movie, play a game, do anything that requires using some slightly advanced GPU stuff, I'll get tearing, artifacts, or d

The problem is, many adblockers also have a feature to disable certain DOM nodes inside websites, to avoid embedded ads or remove anti-adblockers. So you'd also need an API to filter out certain selectors... And the list of specialized

But it does. OVH wants to be able to brand stuff as Ubuntu. Ubuntu is unhappy about brand damage and having to deal with ovh's bug. If ovh throws money at canonical, they can hire people to deal with that. It might not make much sense

The thing is, they are competing for package maintainers and users. A Nix package can't be natively used by Guix, and vice-versa, so a package have to be written for both.

Your complaints have been heard, and there are a lot of efforts to address them :) There's currently an effort to make the command line utilities easier to use[0]. There's also an effort to bring PackageKit to NixOS, which should

Most of the "standard" packages are already in it, and those that aren't are fairly easy to add in. I created and maintain the Matrix.org Synapse package, for instance, and it was a breeze to package myself, even without any

Probably not, because that'd be a breach of contract (assuming you're contractually obligated to show up). But being good at what you've been hired to do is usually not a contractual obligation.

Most path arrays are :-concatenated on unixes (RPATH, LD_PRELOAD, etc...), so the convention holds for the majority case. There might be a way to specify the serialization of your array somewhere, but I can't find it in the doc.
