There was only one app showing up in search for the word plex. I'm sure that helped too.

Sometimes the real HN reads like this for me. It's how I know I'm tired, and should go to bed immediately after reading one more story.

Interesting point. Why isn't the unicode standard just "obscene hand gesture" (or similar?) and then localisation can take care of the rest?

And I thought of Introversion's posts on their now-cancelled subversion game http://www.introversion.co.uk/subversion/ . Particularly the early posts, though I think this is the last one they did about the city gen

I'm curious if there is a reason you don't use Quicktime's built in screen-record functionality?

Slightly OT, but I'd be tempted to argue TV Shows can and do have bugs; plot holes, bad acting, continuity errors et al. They can be quite jarring.

The idea is sound, but what about those of us who listen to Spotify/Rdio/et al. rather than having an iTunes collection? There's also Last.fm. Everything I listen to (or at least as much as reasonably possible) get's scr

While the plural of anecdote is not data, I've seen pretty much these exact same figures. The Uber's here look identical to our normal private hire taxi's though, so I'm assuming their drivers are in fact legally complia

I was under the impression that a shared folder only uses up the original creators space, rather than on each shared member. Is that not the case? edit: Clearly I was mistaken, thanks for the correction(s)!

It's been a long long time, but I'm pretty sure that looks like the set up used for alcohol titration ... which at least at my school we did in teams for 4 or so. Did you not do this? If I did it, I'd assume that it's a

I'm actually from Scunthorpe. Being quite young and innocent, we never actually knew the particular offensive word contained within until we had to work out why the school computers were changing our town name to SXXXXhorpe.

The reviewer mentions they're reviewing the November 2013 Haswell Refresh. My work laptop is the Feb 2013 1080p version, and as an Apple fan I must say I'm very impressed with the quality of this machine... and the 1080p screen is

Presumably the upside is that it's easy to use for non-techy types. I implemented a system with markdown editing for a charity I help out at, and everyone has freaked out about the markdown editing. I've been looking for a dead-si

The way handled this game is really quite sad. I was excited for it, the previews looked promising ... but the fact that the server performance was newsworthy, and the small-city problem, meant that I never bothered buying it. I imagine I&#

Interesting and useful article, thanks. If the original author turns up, I'd be curious to know how you felt about their being two of you in it together and not just a single co-founder.

I'm curious as to why you think they're unemployable? Simply because they can't talk about what they've been doing, and you can't ask for a reference - or is it something about the job itself?
