I do not know any solid answers from research for this questions. Half the things you read say that '.99' makes some people interpret the price as being lower than it really is while the other half of research says that people interpret as

I was very good friends with one of my old bosses. We'd known each other for years when he extended the job offer to me. I accepted and we had a good working relationship and our friendship remained as good as ever. Once I quit and moved o

The door thing ended up being kind of cool. We did it in a way that it reattaches almost seamlessly with some sunken screws. So, it looks just as bad as it ever did except now it's convertible. We can remove the door's roof anytime we want.

I was 12 years old and wanted to play video games on our 386. However, being the typical 12 year old, I had no money. I had some cheesy little DOS helicopter game and decided that I wanted to do something like that. I pulled up the source c

Thanks for the info. That's what I was hoping to find out by having these. They now live happily within my suite of various development/testing tools.

Ie9 allows you to switch the display mode between IE7, IE8, IE9. However, it does not allow IE6. Also, I'm not yet certain how accurate the older modes are. I did write some code with a known IE7 bug that worked fine in 8 & 9... and wh

On the bottom left of the site you will see 'Previous Deals.' I suppose it is a bit of a misnomer since you can see current deals as well. Click that and you should be able to see all of the current deals.

My first web development job came as random luck. I received a phone call at my high school via the school office. I headed to the office to see what the call about and it was a local ISP begging me to come in and work for a week. All of th

The coldest I have seen this year is about 14-18F. However, the downstairs heat was on the fritz for a bit so I regularly had 50-degree temperatures inside. That wasn't fun. Oo, you're right. Summers here are absolutely terrible. Strangely

Good suggestion. I used to do something similar when I had a rolling white board. I be sure to keep it away from my desk as I was planning/designing and would then wheel it back over to my work area when it was implementation time and/or I

I work at home in a non-distinct office. I wish that I had my own office some where in the house but the place just isn't big enough to accommodate that scenario. I am going to try to arrange for this in my next move, though. I find that I

I noticed this a while back when I mocking up a few designs in Chrome. It's a pretty neat trick that I make use of on occasion when things look rougher than I'd like. Be sure to test in multiple browsers, though, as I actually ran into a si

I began programming in 1992 when I was around 12 years old. The reason was that my desire to play video games some how managed to clash with the fact that, as a kid, I had no money. I grabbed a copy of turbo pascal 3.0 and began figuring ou

I was working for a company in Irvine, CA that did VoIP/telephony. Some of our stuff was pretty neat. We ended up open sourcing part of the project. It was a C++/CORBA system that allowed for passing of messages of different types (calendar
