The site was down for me also. On a side note - The first thing I thought about when I saw the name was copper.

Maybe it's just me, but I spent less time getting acclimated to Windows 8 than I did with Unity. I find nothing difficult about it at all.

Using vim helped me write better (or smarter) regular expressions. I tell people starting out with vim to stick with it and it will help them in the long run.

Yeah, I'd rather wait 5 minutes for correct information instead of waiting 2 minutes for incorrect information.

It's funny you mention that. I just got through looking at ubermusic which is almost an exact clone of (or, if you prefer, heavily inspired by) the Zune software for Windows Phone.

I sure they meant "too long; don't read" to fall in line with their "prize" of coming to interview if you could make sense of the explanations and benchmarks.

It has to be. A friend's account was compromised, but I reset his password for him and MS gave him the opportunity to remove any offending material and everything was ok. This is slightly annoying though.

I still have a copy of that paper they pulled that "debunks" nosql. I don't think I'm ever getting rid of it.

I'd like to know also. I mean, all this post says to me is "Google+ gets more traffic than LinkedIn". That isn't much of a feat when you consider Google integrating G+ into searches, the use of browser extensions, etc.

Yeah. Personally, I take all articles with a grain of salt when the author bandies about terms like M$.

I still use `:wq` once every blue moon. Only out of habit though.

So this means I can get my hands on Windows 8 in August. However, the more pressing matter is when I can get my hands on a Surface tablet.

I glance at TIOBE from time to time. My biggest gripe is just because a language is searched does not mean it's being used.

He's right. Most of the time, the things that tip me off are the misspelled words and poor grammar; also, the conflicting information. For example, getting an email message from Chase Bank with a signature from a Wells Fargo employee. A

I stopped reading when I got to the part about Windows RT become WART. This guy has an axe to grind and he just wasted thrity seconds of my life that I will never get back.

It's been said here several times: Buy a phone for what it does today, not what the manufacturer or carrier promises what it will do later.

Thank you. I'm glad someone else sees this. If a developer writes a NFC enabled app that finds its way on to previous generation phones, the support alone will be an utter nightmare.

I use Sharepoint everyday. I hate it and iTunes equally. I use the Zune software everyday. I have it installed on all of my computers. I can't say that it is perfect, but it is leaps and bounds better than iTunes in my opinion.

I was beginning to wonder if anyone remembered Windows XP Tablet Edition since 2002 happened a while back. According to my 10 year old niece: "The Lord of the Rings movie came out a long time ago." So, when I see things like this, I think

As long as other OEMs and other industry leaders don't follow Apple's lead on this, I'm fine. I won't need a retina display in the near future unless Visual Studio or vim suddenly require it. (and I really don't see that happpening -ever)

That $85 price tag is a Windows RT and Office Metro bundle. So, it's not _just_ Windows in question. I think the title should be adjusted to reflect this. Read this Windows Team blog post to see what I mean: http://windowsteamblog.com/wi

I don't get it. Why don't they just discontinue the Mac Pro?

Originally Windows was the only OS in this platform, but I iirc they are planning to change the name also.

I like the idea. I think it is a good initiative, but I just don't see it happening anytime soon. Some agencies just don't have the resources to make it happen, and others have too many resources so the red tape involved with projects lik

I agree. Or at the very least, identify what your users are using (in my case IE9 and webkit via iOS) and test accordingly. Granted I am only making things for internal consumption among a very small pool of users, but still If I decided

Last I heard, LSU and Nebraska were the only two schools with athletic programs that were both financially and nominally self-sufficient. This was in 2009, I think. This link gives some financial stats on athletics programs starting with
