As a user of free software I have the opposite bias. If a software is built around a community, which should be the case of free software, I think it's better if decisions are taken by asking the users, be it forum discussions, polls o

I think this should be the default behavior: as soon as you mount the torrent btfs start fetching it like any other torrent client. I use it mainly for streaming videos: btfs comes with a small python script "btplay <magnet>"

Setting a modest buffer size helps but does not solve this entirely. For example, turning on the subtitles or switching audio track will usually hang the player for a while.

I have been using btfs for years so I can answer. It can handle videos and other streamable formats if there are enough seeds: the connection is not usually a problem. The pieces are not downloaded strictly sequentially but using a sliding

I don't really understand the criticisms of Nix being non-standard or a hard to grasp language. The language is basically JSON with semicolons, scoping and lambda functions. It has a really minimal syntax and few built-in functions, it

GHC is notoriously large. The compiler itself is around 1.5GB (this includes documentation, static and dynamic libraries). To get an idea of the size of the bare-minimum system that's required to develop in language x, you can look at

There are many other reasons, I can think of: - Privacy concerns: the much higher density of antennas it requires will make geolocation really accurate. - Weather radars interference: no need to explain why this is bad. - Risk of proliferat

Apparently doubling the pressure allows two or maybe more patients to be hooked to the same ventilator with a kind of T-junction. In this situation you would only need an extra mask.

The same has been proposed in NixOS [1]: basically updating nss, sqlite and other common dependencies for firefox requires recompiling tons of software, which in turn requires testing, especially in the case the update was a major one. NixO
