Do you have any data to prove that 7 minutes is insufficient? Seems like the people proposing this did their homework; it's only fair to expect you to do the same.

IMO the easiest way to poke a hole in the argument is to say: ok, now what happens when you want to add the coach of the team? and the owner? Adding them to the Players list would be problematic considering they're not really players.

I found the metaphor to be contrived and pretentious. We all understand the symbolism of a blank sheet of paper -- there's no need to elaborate for an entire paragraph about it.

Hmmm smells like the HN misogynists are out again. Someone should really do a sentiment analysis on HN comments based on author gender.

If you understood how customer service business runs, you'd know that this is most definitely a systematic failure. I'm shocked how many people on HN seem to think that customer service reps act on their own volition. And if Squar

Absolutely not. Given how mechanized customer support is these days, there is no reason to ask for login credentials. A new support employee would no doubt be reading off of a prompt and a seasoned support employee should absolutely know be

Yikes! So glad to know that these type of things are being broadcast to the wider Internet community. I know quite a few people that use squarespace; I'll make sure to let them know.

This is quite an instructive thread on why it has taken so long for sensible drug policies to be put in place around the world. One person makes a generalization, another person counters with a broader generalization, someone throws in thei

Well, it also goes to show that public perception and reputation of a person can be largely at odds with reality. I like Horowitz's story, too, because it shows that even though people can do illegal things, it's very easy to do s

The Wikipedia article on options backdating notes that Steve Jobs was investigated for fraud at Apple, but ultimately the SEC went after Apple's CFO and general counsel at the time.

It's a strange dichotomy in a way; we, as Americans, are supposed to be aggressively family-oriented while, at the same time, relentlessly dedicated to our work. Corporate culture here definitely has a certain intensity to it that can
