Cloud, in terms of "other company's infrastructure" always implies losing the competence to select, source and operate hardware. Treating hardware as commodity will eventually treat your very own business as commodity: Someon

I'm not a tax advisor and most of my knowledge is about Germany, but if you have no physical business in the US, like office and proper residency (decision-making process), you have to tax in your own country. Tax evasion would be easy

short: no long: It depends. If you are a foreigner, e.g. no US resident, you are fully taxable with your US LLC profits in your country of residence, e.g. let's say Germany. There is no way to get a tax discount or any other simple mag

You can start an Unternehmergesellschaft (UG) within days with a template. However tax filing burdens will costs you around 2000€ baseline a year without having a single Euro of revenue let alone profit.

Starting a company is not the issue, running costs, taxes, bureaucracy is a huge burden. Take US LLC. It‘s a bargain to operate.

There are plenty of vectors left to squeeze the existing IPv4 space especially all the Legacy assignments held by deceased companies and individuals. There is no procedure to reclaim them. Even when you invest time and money to find the rel

a fully open source alternative would be netbird, it's based on wireguard as well, has 0 closed components but lacks some features (like IPv6 or internal CA). https://github.com/netbirdio/netbird

1. Follow people who deliver. Deliver code, arts, thoughts, ideas, change. 2. Ignore the cultists of all sides, ignore the people who fall into every rage bait trap or just want to start a cult. Almost nobody is right or wrong all the time

It‘s worthwhile to mention „clones“ because Mastodon/Fediverse and bsky turned into the same negativity sinkholes just with a different group. Builders and creators quickly became the minority, as it happend on Twitter within 3-4 years

We used to make fun of cat videos and low quality memes albeit they kind of balance the negative sentiment one is exposed on almost all platforms and topics. From word politics, AI/tech, environmental, personal health etc.

That‘s why we have so many late diagnosed. People who are on the spectrum but were able to mask or were just lucky until luck runs out. Then it becomes a problem and a diagnosis. I knew I am different as long as I can remember. It was obvio

Companies offering LIR services to hobbyists are probably not going to stay in business forever, as many of them are 1 person companies, too. Also keep in mind that they may change pricing. I understand, that with IPv6 the numbering strateg

Okay, but that is not enough to operate independently. PA v6 is another dependency. With ARIN you get your personal IPv6 assignment.

afaik that's +VAT and also for LIRs only. LIRs apply markup, see https://www.lir.services/lir-sponsoring/ they charge 200€ per resource, so ASN + PI would be at last 400€/year that's way above the price

AI is a bubble and in a few months, expensive nuclear energy will either be not needed anymore or replaced by cheaper solar and wind energy. The plant was decommissioned years ago because it was just not running profitable. And it will neve

The costs of protecting nuclear waste for 100.000 years from terrorists and during wars will be impossible. It's a super easy target. Just attack the power plants and nuclear waste facilities of the opponent and you have won the war.

Old nuclear plants are huge targets for sabotage by foreign spies and terrorists. If they can make one blow up, it will decide every conflict in their favour. It's like having a huge bomb in your garden on display for everyone to targe

Coal would harm the nature for months until the bubble bursts, nuclear waste will last forever. And hopefully the old nuclear plants won’t fail uncontrolledly.

Well, diversity is great but I think many people underestimate the quality and service of GitHub, especially the free services. Even commercial vendors have failed to provide such a free service over time (Docker Hub, Bintray, Sourceforge).

You are talking about the circular investments in the segment? Yes, but assume NVIDIA can get cheap access to IP and products of failing AI unicorns through contracts, this does not mean the LLM business can be operated profitably by them.
