I tend to think this is a fair trade-off for services like this because: 1) for end-to-end encrypted services, I think what you most want to verify is: is my data actually being encrypted with my keys before being sent over the network, whi

I think technically, legally, it is the opposite. Works are automatically copyrighted upon creation, so without a license, by default it is not free to use. In practice, who cares, that’s why they put it on GitHub, just use it

Thank you for this feedback. I am on the FlyWire Codex team, and we are working to 1) provide alternate login means and 2) open up parts of Codex to browsing without login

Don't you have to believe there could be GPT submissions still flying under your radar? The obvious ones are obvious, and with subtle giveaways you probably catch most. But how could you know you aren't missing any?

Glad to see more attention being paid to attractiveness privilege. Probably the most under-discussed privilege in our society, relative to its impact.

Nope, every repl is running in a docker container on a GCP vm, with various other security measures. See: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=19215175 I believe the very first version of replit was all in-browser, but no

At replit every repl is indeed a docker container, but that is absolutely not the primarily isolation mechanism. Here’s a comment from CEO @amasad to that effect in 2019 (so, even more secure now I am certain) https://news.ycombi

The other comments have pretty much covered it. We can pretty clearly demonstrate that neurons in general are important to behavior (brain damage, etc) and we even have some understanding about specific neurons or populations/circuits

This is not a good take. Yes there is a lot more going on in brains than just neuronal activity, we don’t understand most of it. But understanding neurons and their connections is necessary (but not sufficient) to understanding what we cons

Fine, let’s say “factory farming” is not a useful term. Do you have any suggestions for how we should talk about / classify modern farming practices? I genuinely appreciate this discussion

You said the phrase was meaningless, I disagree completely with that. We also disagree on the study, but that's a much more reasonable disagreement.

it’s not useless, it’s just not that conclusive. Im pretty confident in saying a significant majority of animals raised for slaughter worldwide are done so in conditions commonly described as “factory farms”. We can quibble about the defini
