Don’t do Kubernetes or any other container orchestration when you don’t have CI/CD in place yet. I really think this is meant to work in tandem and changing Kubernetes YAML on a developer laptop can blow up fast.

One thing that bugs me really hard about gitlab.com (and gitlab ce) is the broken flow when I come about an interesting repo and want to star it. I'm logged out, click on "Star", log in and I'm at my profile. I have to n

I really enjoy your videos. I wish I had the space and time to make stuff out of wood. Software and servers isn't just the same since you can't touch it.

Companies loose more when people run into burnout and become sick or leave the company. If the company doesn’t care about your wellbeing, leave. Also you should leave when there is more middle management then people who do real work.

There aren't simpler ways to deploy cluster software. Kubernetes might be overkill for a blog, but it's not overkill for a lot of cluster software. And with Helm charts it's really easy to run it.

The main problem I see with vaping Cannabis extract is, there isn’t much that a consumer can do to verify the quality of the product. The cannabis could be contaminated with mold or neem oil from the grow up or it could be leftovers from th

I used to be the same and to a certain degree, information on the internet is better. There is simply more information and it updates regularly. A book will be out of date soon. And information on the internet is often free of charge. The v

I almost exclusively read programming books and buy paper books for ~200 EUR a year. I read with a highlighter pen and mark pages with dog ears. The books look like I really read them and sometimes I have different colors which doesn't

I just wonder, when you have a queueing system, can’t you use this for distributed logging?

It really depends on who‘s the target group. I hate localization in Developer Tools etc, because googling it is harder and a lot of times English is just easier to understand. It’s different for a shopping site.

I don’t get it. First every language brings a JSON parser. It’s easy to debug. You also don’t have any overhead for parsing in JavaScript based editors like VSCode and Atom. And second, When the protocol is robust and needs to be faster, y

I had a little bit of the same problem and while I think the third party Software like fleet should work (Never really had enough time to try it out at work) I wrote a small ansible module to integrate osqueryi.

Even just a simple head movement depends on the culture, as nodding for "yes" and shaking the head for "no" is not universal [0][1]. And this doesn't even account for something like the "indian head bobble"

I don't understand how to design such a system. The sun doesn't shine in a lot of places for less than 12 hours a day. In the winter, a lot of places have much less sunlight. When men needed wind to sail the sea, there were situat

Something I miss from reading those articles: what are you doing when the wind doesn't blow for a few days or even weeks? And in case of solar farms, the sun doesn't shine (like at night)? How do you store the energy efficiently?

The name loop implies it runs the jobs sequentially, while the main feature of GNU parallel is to run the jobs in parallel. Maybe this is also possible with loop, but I don't see that option.

I think a good strategy for Microsoft would be to reuse as much as possible CI/CD code from github in Azure devops. Azure devops probably doesn’t need to be as flexible as long as it is robust and just works. Github will probably be th
