Sorry, I don't get it. I agree that there is a risk, but the risk is to need to do work at an unpleasant time you couldn't plan for as much as you wanted. "Risking your ass" risk is risk over which you could get fired. L

I know all of the software listed there (by name) except Opensource MANO. I tried to find out what it is, but was greeted only with jargon and more three letter acronyms. Can somebody please explain what it is?

I also had similar interactions, but I'm not sure of the outcome, because I don't know how much it aligned with the project's roadmap. And this is exactly where I disagree with Antirez' post. > You are doing work for

I have seen the same issue with caching in varnish when cashing rules were naive or some proxy stripped relevant headers like Cookie.

Take two apps and switch their icons without the owner knowing it. Or put the same icon for every app. Make the icon even offensive. Then it becomes a bug.

While the language selection on mobile Wikipedia is in a very prominent spot, I often struggle to find it, because it’s just some Asian sign I can’t make sense of. I hope they don’t do this on desktop too.

I used to run gitlab-runner locally to debug the CI pipeline but my team now uses a lot of gitlab features to make the pipelines more DRY and this means CI code is scattered over projects. The easiest way I found to debug it, is to put set

But the point of the article is not to make complicated scripts readable again, but to put even simpler commands (maybe even one long mysqldump command) into very short scripts. I agree that a cli framework is often easier to use than bash

Oh thank you. I was looking for the point that someone who wants to learn needs to engage with the topic in some way, e.g. by teaching others about it, using their own words to summarize the content, etc. Did the author mention something li

I also use vimium on Chrome, but I never knew about any functionality for searching tabs. What key is it? Also I'm not sure if it would be helpful for websites like github where I disable vimium to be able to use the website's hot

I use a chrome plugin (List All Tabs) which is able to show tabs as well as filter them and close them. I can type github in the filter and then jump to the one tab I search or close all the tabs I don't need.

If you would put next hops MAC address in the routing table and the device fails and needs to be replaced, all the routing tables would need to be rewritten, because MACs are supposed to be unique. You couldn’t just take a spare device, con

I somehow broke ruby on my Mac so I can’t use cursor keys in irb. No big problem, just do a quick docker run -it —-rm ruby and I can try some code in the repl. Yes, I‘m sure I could fix it somehow, but I didn’t have time for it to

I understand that it’s better to have less dependencies. And I understand that a pipe to bash thing can do more than a naive user would think. But the header of get.docker.com doesn’t pipe directly to bash anymore. You can inspect the down
