I'm sure their competitors aren't shamed - as they shouldn't. OpenAI, especially, has done tremendously good work. If it wasn't for them, perhaps Mistral wouldn't be news today? Competitors are highly motivated to i

I strongly disagree. Your ability to use ChatGPT effectivelly is highly dependent on your technical competence. The interview is meant to measure your acquired competence, because this is the harder part. Learning to leverage that competenc

You will be unproductive (including when using an LLM as an assistant) and less capable of solving complex problems if you don't memorize stuff in a technical field like SWE.

If your goal is to get a job, set realistic expectations. There's a tiny job market for that - in comparison to, say, web dev - and these projects require professionals with very deep knowledge. This is not the kind of work where chatg

I don't think that's exactly the meaning on this article in particular, but I've seen people using "step function" as synonym to a step in a Finite-State Machine. SWE technical terms are used very loosely, especiall

I can certainly attest that you are right, at least in my experience. Another side benefit is that I now value a lot more the people who work with manual labour. They should definitely earn more from society, in gratitude and financially.

You can get arrested. And you can't replicate yourself. An AI model can't be arrested and can replicate itself almost infinitely.

I'm in no way defending Apple's stance, but this is a misrepresentation. They're only demanding a cut if the lead resulting in an external sales comes from the App. If you market your app on a website and sell there, you don&

I think it's less important for indie businesses. VC-backed startups tend to have ideas with a higher level of "originality", I think. But that's my personal perspective...
