I believe Starlink actually helps SpaceX move faster by keeping their manifest full. They just did 3 Starlink launches in a week, which is insane. More launches = more reliability = faster human rating. Starlink is also the thing that will

Starlink works fine in densely populated areas, they just have a fixed number of users per square mile they can serve regardless of the density. There also tends to be more competition in densely populated areas (but perhaps more people loo

Why is it unreasonable to raise the monthly price because of inflation? Inflation affects all costs: satellites, ground stations/network, salaries, etc.

There are a bunch of reasons to believe this is wrong, in addition to the things other people have pointed out: - Starship will further reduce SpaceX's already low launch costs. - Economies of scale by producing 10,000+ satellite. - In

In practice I'm not so sure it's such a bad thing for it to not be permanently mounted on the roof because of the importance of avoiding obstructions. Imagine your campsite is under a tree, but there's a clearing 50 feet away

Space is big, even LEO. As long as the large majority of all satellites have active collision avoidance, and coordinate between them, this shouldn’t be a problem. I’m not sure if there’s an international body working to coordinate this, but

Most the terminals were in fact donated. The extent of the claim was a comment by Shotwell preceded by “I think”. Clearly she just had incomplete information. > “I don’t think the U.S. has given us any money to give terminals to the Ukra

Not going to lie: I won’t mind if coastal Northern California’s weather gets a bit more like Southern California’s. If that’s the case, maybe a good real estate investment? (assuming low wildfire and rising seas risks)

To be frank, Danielle is delusional. Someone who has worked on a company for ~10 years absolutely should be able to profit from a future sale of the company. It seems the most fair thing would be to simply issue new stock grants with a vest

Your email is the key the castle, if it gets hacked then all other accounts can be taken over via password resets too. I trust the teams at large email providers far more than myself to secure it. Not worth the risk, IMHO.

SpaceX is betting on Starship to launch the next generation of Starlink satellites, so I’d be very surprised if it doesn’t reach orbit in the next 1-2 years. Re-entry, landing, and full reusability could easily take several more years thoug
