this comparison is with a major caveat of the platform you're buying. using workstation-grade hardware to contrast is not quite fair imo, unless you really want 100s GB of RAM for cpu alone. you can easily go with faster cores and like

this makes me wonder if we will go back to the geocities model for hosting personal websites. perhaps it is already the case with .github.io and .substack.com. it has already been hard to discover websites hosted on their own domains, unles

this opinion seems more influenced by the writer's environment than not. i will be cautious to oversell its current use case. like it has been speculated by some youtubers, this might be more of a mvp like scenario like with apple watc

deep learning, underpinning it all, is machine learning at the end of the day. the same way we're calling it "AI", this is another branding bs. in before comments on auto gpt.

another reminder that a motivated third party can thwart all the measures towards digital anonymity. can't wait for a similar case but with xmr "cracked" using quantum computers.

I can see how the apple silicon memory system can help with LLMs, but a couple points of reality check: - such amounts of memory is locked behind very expensive sku which even most of mac userbase will not use ( <5% in the new purchases

+1 the og pi is still fairly capable, and you can achieve a lot with it if you offload a lot of things or write more efficient systems.

as a student, it is not a weird but interesting time to be in this space. while the hype is like web3 from a year or two ago, the "advancements" are confusing when you look deeper. while i have a lot to learn, i am struggling to f

always interesting to see ethical and legal discussions regarding these AI systems. but what about rethinking about the notion that people just take output of these systems at their face value? some people intentionally spread misinformatio

regardless of how you feel about IA's actions, they are the only ones doing digital archiving at their scale. i hope there are attempts made to replicate the non-infringing parts of the platform for the worst case scenario.

underrated comment. of course i agree that there are specificities with mlops and data engineering that don't exist for a typical full-stack application. but if you boil it down enough, you just find the same underlying concepts.

i can see how this might seem like a foreign idea for a speaker to announce how much you spent in a store to everyone nearby. but in practice, for small neighbourhood stores, this is just fine. a good implementation of hdi.
