even in ideal conditions, i still don't think the safety aspects (while riding it or parking it) are addressed to a point where you can justify investing thousand(s) dollars in a good one, at least for me. a rental service seems to address a lot of this, at least in (big) cities. but then we see what is happening with rental scooters in paris.
