I have been using Ubuntu now for a little over a year, and honestly, I find it incredibly tedious to do the most mundane amount of configuration. I want to adjust what programs get run at start up. On Arch Linux, I go to /etc/rc.d and remov

Having thanks in the signature can be really irritating sometimes though. An example would go something like: Hey, Can you do this inconvenient thing that is a lot of work because I kind of slacked off a little this week. Thanks!

In general there is one major impact every million years -a mere blink of the eye in geological time. If the universe is only a few billion years old, how is a million years a "blink of the eye"?

The space in mathematics journals is limited. They really can't afford to publish anything that isn't of the form "Theorem-Proof." What is useful is contacting people in the community surrounding a particular result, including the person (o

I remember back in 2003 when steam came out along with the release of CS v1.6. The whole community complained for a long time, setting up private v1.5 servers and doing anything in their power to avoid steam. The naysayers had their points,
