I mean sure there is "some" truth to it. But more likely than not the acquiring company has two conflicting priorities: 1. acquire startups/talent to improve certain things that the company is incompetent at 2. actively block

I still have two lying around. One of them was a 15” dell brick. I had informed the client that I will be disposing of them when I’m back if they don’t handle it and that any and all third party liability well fall on the direct supervisor

All of this sounds pretty on brand for Federighi. I really wonder though how much influence he's had on apples culture. There have been a lot of changes in OSX(at the time) that seemingly coincide with his timeline at Apple.

So i just tried it actually, and it's way better than it used to be. Still a bit laggy, but i think I would consider this usable. I do however still see couple hundred ms delays on clicking on random ui elements even after disabling an

In Germany that's very common though. Basically small is called lego, big is called duplo. No matter who it's from. It's kinda how people I google things, no matter whether you search on duckduckgo or google.

Is the UI still as horribly laggy? I try vivaldi every other year because people say it's faster, but it's almost as if those people only run that beast on a desktop or fully specced 15" laptops

It sounds a bit like Jiro[1]. Sometimes I wonder if that striving for perfection until you die is as admirable as it is damaging, because it doesn't let the next generation get the necessary experience that they need. [1] https:/

Let that sink in for a moment, there are 17 companies doing research on a hugely important topic with only 2.4billion in funding(disclosed). Magic leap alone has burned more money than that. Theranos has burned almost a billion. Elsewhere i

To me it seems like E-readers are more popular than ever. Onyx has been pushing out so many devices in the last couple of years(the newest ones run Android 11 with pretty decent mid or low range snapdragon SoCs, the last lumi2 has 6GB Ram).
