One consequence is bespoke music that changes dynamically, e.g. in games. There's also a relative dearth of royalty free music for independent content creators to use. AI would enable them to produce better content on a limited budget.

It's not even profitable _now_ with all their monetization. But their overhead is millions of $/year. There is precedent for non-profit sites of that size but it won't be easy.

I don't think it will because there's no solid alternative. If/when there is, and the most active users - the ones contributing the content and moderating the comments - start leaving, then it will turn into an empty husk of

Another dark pattern is hijacking back to move you to the 'front page' of the site. Like twitter, get linked to a tweet and then the back button takes you to your feed, which absolutely nobody requested.

I think it's less about black/white and more about the outlined art style. A lot of these QR codes are painted. There are painted manga (Lost in Abyss comes to mind) but they are a rarity.

Assuming you mean a sex shop, 'hentai' would refer to basically the entire store's stock, so I think you'd need to be a bit more specific! It doesn't automatically refer to manga or anime like it does in the West.

My Japanese friend said "アニメのQRコード?" when I sent them this link, so I think that usage works in both languages.

Three 'e's is not correct. ー is a single mora, so should usually be one vowel. E.g. ラーメン is raamen not raaamen. ショ is sho (or syo if you use Japan-style romanization) not tsu. So the proper romanisation is something like 'ani

I blocked reddit for a week. I was much more productive and I'm having a hard time thinking of what I missed out on. I told myself it was full of interesting discussions but I basically forgot all of it the second I had closed the tab.
