What the fuck? I really, really don't like that one of the largest news organizations in America is blackmailing/powertripping like this.

Interesting - it is trivial to prove something was done today rather than yesterday, by hashing with the most recent bitcoin block or some new info. Is it possible to prove something was done in the past? All I can think of is some sort of

I think this is a really good idea -- many people, myself included, get really excited about Haskell and then are turned off by the complexity of monad transformers. I would recommend that you focus on good error messages that explain monad

I meant to parse mentally. Control flow in Python is very easy to mentally parse at a glance. Powerful lambdas get rid of that. It's an extremely contrived example, but from the code I posted, it should just be: for x in xs:

If you want a multi line lambda: def print_each_twice(xs): map(lambda x: print(x) # whoops, impossible You can define a local function: def print_each_twice(xs): def print_twice(x): print(x)

I like the idea of acoustic padding and visual blockers. My desk is in a darker area with lots of conversation and visual noise. Can anyone recommend how to set up padding and simulate sunlight without being weird/blinding others?

I strongly disagree with this idea - code should always be released! If it's good, we can avoid rewriting code and have more options for hashing, and if some people point out problems with the code, the author can learn from their mist

I have a strategy that works pretty consistently - close your eyes and ignore the best practices like using Anaconda, Python 3, virtualenv (or venv in py3... oh wait it's a module?) and just install Python 2.7 with pip into default loc
