So what makes you think Apple or Google aren't using your call information for advertising purposes in the default diallers?

I'm pretty sure there is, given that there is now a precedent in the US for an API to be copyrightable following the Java verdict.

It's not got much to do with the serialization protocol itself as such - most server software uses a library which handles it properly and then doesn't have to worry about it. It's more that web developers have to get bits of

And what was organizing your memory regions as you posted that? Some piece of javascript written by some hipster second week out of a hacker bootcamp or a properly designed malloc implementation? Not everything is what's visible on the

"Dorks who care about programming, and programmers who care about creating deliverable value." I'd rather have 95% of the code on my machines written by those from the former camp. And if you think about it, the 5% of it is t

So... did these tube AB designs have particularly asymmetrical lobes to their gain curves? Otherwise I don't see where these even order harmonics are getting introduced.

I don't think there's anything new in this article. They're actually talking about the difference between Class A and Class AB amplifiers, most old valve amps being of Class A design and the trend with solid state amps being

If we're asking "should a user be able to continue using files created with a program beyond the point that they are paying from that program?" we're not that far from the practical effects of such a decision already. I&

Point of note: those of you who also have their animated gifs set to run once and not loop, you're only supposed to stay exhaled for 4 seconds. Don't do what I did.

Not again. I do wish the KDE project would stop getting distracted by quixotic hardware and/or mobile projects and concentrate on building a killer desktop. I hate to say it but parts of KDE today do feel worse than what we had ten y

This article doesn't mention the most significant fallout of the IPFS idea (imo), which is that of .nar deduplication, as detailed in the issue https://github.com/NixOS/nix/issues/859 (point 4). Perhaps

This sounds like it's more of a library thing than language thing. The problem (I'm guessing) is the older platforms have `libstdc++` which won't support newer features* . Though I suspect statically linking `libstdc++` might

I guess something that could help would be for the deduplicator to be slightly more conservative. When doing a deduplication pass, if it finds a duplicate page, rather than merging them straight off, mark one of the pages as "reclaimab
