Honestly, I'm not seeing any signs of webtorrent usage at all. It appears to be a normal stream from a normal server. Even if they don't store all the video, and just proxy the torrent sessions, I'm not sure how they could af

What a spectacular hack! Instead of going around your package manager in such a spectacular fashion, why not just switch to a distro which provides an up-to-date kernel along with associated packages. For example, how does this program hand

Wow, this is incredible. I can't believe that a dramatic retelling of a dry, technical mailing list discussion could be so damn entertaining. Or that a dramatic retelling is even possible in this format. Thanks for mentioning this!

Seems somewhat unlikely to me. Now that OpenGL is gone from MacOS, the Mac is basically dead as a cross-platform gaming system. Who's going to rewrite their renderer on Metal just to target such a tiny platform? Maybe if UE or Unity do

I live in NZ and I've received maybe 1 or 2 in my lifetime. I'm not aware of any particular legal/technical measures in place here to stop them.

Absolute rubbish - and quite sadly I note that you're just parroting industry talking points. >This can be seen with music today. Rampant sharing made it so you can't really sell albums anymore. If you want to make a living, yo

Not even remotely close to stealing. Stealing causes an actual loss to the victim - they owned an item which is worth money, and now they don't. Copyright infringement, OTOH, causes a potential loss to the 'victim'. The copyr

Yes, but you can sign your xpi via a command line tool (which calls the AMO API) and then distribute that however you want. It can be installed by dragging into about:addons.

Hmm. I run pfsense, it advertises its own v6 address as a DNS resolver, and I've never had any issues with it breaking. Admittedly, I don't know it isn't just falling back to v4 for a period when the prefix changes. But I did

I have this issue too, so I use Ddclient-curl to do dynamic dns via cloudflare. DDNS is something that I once thought would be an artifact of a less civilized time, but ISPs gotta upsell, I guess.

I use 2degrees. They gave me a static public IP for free when I asked and justified it. Most people who just browse Facebook and Instagram, watch YouTube and Netflix won't notice a thing.
