Uh, okay. We're talking about dark patterns, which are anti-consumer and anti-user design decisions to pursue profit over user experience. Like stuffing candy crush into windows by default or making it incredibly difficult to switch de

Windows is stuffed full of anti-patterns. You can't avoid them just by using notepad.

Hah, I knew a JS wizard would come up with an easier solution after I posted that. Perhaps I'll have to re-sub to that site to see if they've changed their DRM scheme...

I once broke the "DRM" of a site which displayed images by downloading them obfuscated and using a big blob of JS to unfsck them and display them on a canvas. Grabbing the image should be easy, no? Just use `.toDataURL()`, right?

WSL needs to be manually added to windows by the user before it can be used. Also a distro then has to be installed in the VM.

From what I recall, an MS engineer explained why they gave up on WSL1 as being intractable issues with the way Windows and Linux interact with the filesystem, leading to major, unfixable performance issues.

I don't know anything specific about your situation, so I'm sorry for sticking my nose in here, but isn't this a case where you just need to compile your own kernel with a bare minimum of modules for your hardware? Surely tha

IMO Linux won because its license forced everyone who used and extended it to open their changes - this changes the calculus for firms building products on Linux to make it more worthwhile to upstream their changes to reduce their local mai

The great thing about XR is that ordinary JPEG images can be compressed with XR and receive a reduction in size without any reduction in visual quality. Once all your tools receive support for XR, you can convert your entire image library i
