Yep and I used Google Bookmarks too, so that I could get to them from everywhere, but it was dreadful if you had more than a few tags (massive load of HTML loaded for each tag which made a huge tall page) and was clunky. I've moved to

This is exactly what I've been doing and it works fine for me. Like you, I just buy from wherever sells. By stopping downloads, they're obviously trying to stop piracy, but if other companies follow suit, surely there will be tech

Apologies, I wasn't meaning to say I prefer 'softer' music, only that I can't stand Aphex Twin and love The Black Dog. Just a personal preference!

This made me listen to some Aphex Twin. Ouch. Luckily I soothed my ears with some Black Dog: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUl6iJlEeTE

Now I think back many years to when I used bit shifts in C++ to 'optimise' some multiplications and realise I probably didn't measure twice before cutting. These days I hope I'm a lot saner!

Misread this and yet it seemed like a good idea for aeroplanes. "Hostess, may I please have a top up?" I couldn't possibly press the Hostess button because I'm British.

"The goal of AtScript is to enhance the language with these missing features without infringing upon its current capabilities." Looks like they decided TypeScript was Not Invented Here?

Looks like Snap Attack, which I've played on my Windows Phone and is good fun! Did you write up anything about your experiences making it? Would be interested to hear.

I think DJB works hard enough and it's a bit much to expect him to not only work on his passions but also figure out how to get his work and ideas adopted. We're all good at some things and not others. What I'd like to see is

Yes. But this is the case with the current 'forgotten password' system. Securing your email account can be done without 'only' using a password. I use 2 factor auth on my google accounts, for example.

From the FAQ: "we spent three months to look for an alternative of the use of lubrificant for the semi-automatic piston as such substances appear to not be tasteless." Glad to hear we'll only be drinking tasteless lubricant w

My way of thinking is highly influenced by Zen. It has made me wiser, less stressed by life, more able to cope with the world, and generally a little happier. For those who don't know, Zen is Buddhist philosophy without the religion. T

Oh and if you're using VS, you could use TypeScript, which in my limited experience seems to make JavaScript better 'just enough'.

ReSharper also has great support for JavaScript. ReSharper isn't just a refactoring tool - it also points out errors and other potential issues in your code and offers to help fix them. I'm just waiting for ReSharper the Vim plugi

That's not really a trade-off, if you're using the term with a negative connotation. Going from using 100% of one core to 100% of eight (well, 4, but hyperthreading) would normally be considered an advantage.

Yes there's a typo / mispaste in the code there, but of course that wouldn't compile and they're not asking what wouldn't compile ('....' wouldn't compile either).

Except that many contracts now have 'unlimited' voice minutes. Unfortunately, voice calling uses lossy compression, so your data rate would be somewhat limited as you struggle to be 'heard' over that.

Personal photos and videos I don't want to lose, which are of course backed up to actual backup systems, but I also want access to wherever I am. That's what I need 1TB for.
