"So don't settle." That's much easier said than done. Maybe it's easy for you, but from most of the people I've seen, including myself, when you have emotional involvement with something it's difficult not

While I see what you are saying and find it interesting, I find the idea of going anywhere with the sole intention of meeting strangers for romance to be very unnatural as well. My reasoning has little to do with romance and more to do with

I think most would agree that you work to live. I would bet 90+% of people would quit their jobs if they didn't have to make money. On the other hand, I don't think there's anything wrong with finding a job that you don'

Definitely not alone. I don't drink so when the company gets together for beer I just feel really awkward or don't go.

Sure. I imagine Google will easily give you more results but here's one: http://www.mckinsey.com/insights/organization/is_there_a_pay... As has been said many times before, correlation is not causation though

This seems like good advice, but I wonder how people are supposed to find companies that they like in the first place. After all, for whatever reason its looked down upon to keep switching companies, so after a while you probably will be pr

I imagine the founder is trying to make a successful company. Being that diversity is correlated with financial performance, it makes sense to try to have a diverse team. On the other hand, you're right in that you can't just thro

There's a difference between being willing to stay up all night to finish something and being proud of that kind of thing. I got the impression the author understood the difference.

I agree with all but your last point, or at least think there needs to be an exception. If you want extra time to do other things then having a low pressure job is nice, even if you get paid less. I've definitely met my fair share of p

Well in fairness, with the way companies treat their employees nowadays, or at least appear to, the bar is very low. It would not surprise me at all if early employees get shafted when they dont have things down in writing. It doesn't

As much as I hate the title of this post, I think the author has a point. I've also seen this same thing come up when comparing implementations of quicksort in Haskell to that of other languages. They always show a short, elegant imple
