I just thought the same and thought this was really some dark pattern not adding any trust. Also there is no really good examples or performance metrics. There is stuff on GitHub that actually does similar stuff [0] [1] . We tried some pip

It is just the app producers forcing you. Like AliExpress, the app is just the website (it does not even respect the default text size), but only the app allows you to do reviews. Some only give you rebates if you install their spyware. Man

Finally a good use case for versioning file systems. Together with some good sandboxing I would worry much less.

Funny thing is that people are complaining with channel creators. Was in a discord where the moderators desperately asked people to explain it to them because people in English speaking countries most likely do not have this terrible exper

Seeing the wired screenshots I was immediately missing hotbot [1]. The colours even hurt in the days, but I used it a lot. Actually I was surprised that it still exists [1] https://web.archive.org/web/19980208062232

The EU should step in and make sure that any critical OS attestation is taken out of the hands of the big players. Look at GrapheneOS is being denied Google Play Integrity [1] on pretty much no grounds with large consequences. Such security

All I am saying is that while this makes sense, there is probably some stupid IT system or regulation wording, rather some moral constraints that resets things to 1 EUR.

Why should immovable property differ from moveable property. How many things are sold for 1 EUR, just because everything else would be too difficult. Often those things have value that is only specific to the buyer and have negative value f

I am giving a lecture on context sensitive systems. One thing where all this context awareness failed was getting it into higher level reasoning and adapting program logic (think for example the android activity API). I was just telling the

The fullblown case is difficult, true. But the 'simple' case would be that one of the forks has a repo. Afaik Zen already has its own mods: https://zen-browser.app/mods/ (I did not check the details). Coupled

IMHO it would be rather easy to overcome this by forking. I anyways have used forks like librewolf, betterbird and recently Zen for Mozilla stuff due to all this telemetry (I guess you will need not care about malware if the browser alread

I wonder why nothing like F-Droid did ever take off for browser extensions. Even if tons of stuff is open source, the standard distribution format are zip files with unknown content. And browser vendors never lived up to their promise that

Moving stuff out of the standard library seems like a reason. However, I think this all is a weird mix of arguments. IMHO new process spawning is a feature and not a bug in the use cases where CGI is used. Most of the stuff is low traffic c
